At YachtingLawyers, we are dedicated to promoting sustainable practices within the maritime community. Recently, we had the incredible opportunity to join forces with Till the Coast is Clear, a remarkable social enterprise focused on preserving our coastlines, for a beach clean initiative.
A Day of Environmental Stewardship
Till the Coast is Clear is committed to removing plastic waste and other debris from our beaches, ensuring that these vital habitats remain pristine. What sets them apart is their innovative approach to tackling marine pollution. Utilising a ‘special recyclable boat’ made of recycled plastic and kayaks constructed from recycled fishing nets, they also access remote shoreline locations that are often neglected.
Our day began with a briefing from the dedicated team at Till the Coast is Clear, who shared insights into their operations and the significant impact of their work. Equipped with gloves, bags, and a shared sense of purpose, we embarked on our mission to clean a stretch of coastline. Â
The Impact of Our Efforts
Throughout the day, we collected an astonishing amount of plastic waste, from small bottle caps to larger items like discarded fishing gear. It was a powerful reminder of the importance of our collective efforts in combating marine pollution. By the end of the clean-up, we had not only removed a substantial amount of debris, but had also thoroughly enjoyed the experience of being out in nature and restoring the area to its former beauty!
