We are a team of London and South West based UK lawyers passionate about the sea, boats, yachts and maritime activities. We are keen sailors, water sport enthusiasts … and, in one case, a proud house boat owner.
Our aim – to promote business activity within the yachting industry whilst ensuring our clients are legally and commercially protected. We aim to make sure our client’s position has significantly improved as a result of our involvement.
What makes us different? – We recognise that if we want to distinguish ourselves from the competition, we have to create a way of offering legal services within the yachting industry that responds to the changing needs of our clients, particularly with the challenges now faced by the current economic climate. We believe our innovative approach does just that.
We understand the commercial reality of buying, selling and owning boats, coupled with the practical and financial needs of owners. Key to this is the need to provide a consistently high quality service and build a close business rapport with each of our clients. Developing personal client relationships, and adopting a closer and more synergistic working relationship, means you will also benefit from a close network of contacts we have built up over the years
Why use us? – With the exception of buying your home, purchasing a boat is likely to be the next most expensive single asset you will acquire. Before parting with your hard earned money we recommend you contact YachtingLawyers for advice. Once you’ve got your boat you need to protect this significant asset. We don’t over-complicate what is already viewed as a complex area; we simply offer straightforward advice and offer practical suggestions on all aspects of buying, selling and owning a boat which will:
- Give you peace of mind
- Save you money
- Protect you, your boat and your boat business
- Minimise risks commonly associate with buying, owning and operating boats
Social enterprise – We promote and support the social enterprise movement and are looking to accomplish targets within our business that are social and environmental as well as financial. If you are a charity or not-for-profit organisation in the marine industry and would like to discuss common synergies, contact YachtingLawyers and we would be delighted to talk to you to identify ways we could work together.
Charity work – We feel ‘giving something back’ to the community you work in is very important. We support and host local and national charity events, including in particular those of the RNLI. Contact YachtingLawyers to find out how you can get involved.
Law for Entrepreneurs – YachtingLawyers is a specialist division of Truelegal. We act for high net worth business owners across the UK.
